When Mary Rogers graduated from high school, her parents didn't give her a traditional gift. Instead, they gave her partial ownership and the title "Boss" of their newest business. A natural entrepreneur, Mary found her joy in helping other business owners and at the age of 26 left the family business to lead the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce as their youngest Executive Director ever. She went on to serve in leadership roles at Civic Searchlight, the Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce in addition to volunteering with numerous non-profits.
In 2005, Rogers founded Marigold Women in Business, a for-profit enterprise serving the needs of professional women and female entrepreneurs in northern Michigan. Her success grew with the additional of a morning radio talk show on 1067YOU-FM, Mary in the Morning, with the tag line: Smart Talk for Smart Women and the Men Who Love Them. Her guests have included Joan Rivers, The Indigo Girls, Ricki Lake, Gloria Allred, Paula Poundstone as well as her gynecologist, best friends, neighbors and whoever else shows up in the studio.
Rogers sold Marigold to YOU-FM in 2009 and continues to serve as the proud founder of the organization. She is recognized as a powerful voice in northern Michigan's women's business community.
She is married to husband Carl, who owns an advertising agency and they have two children, Lucy and Fritz. They reside in Traverse City, MI.
