Citizens Banks awarded Great Lakes WBC Small Business Relief and Recovery grants to support small businesses in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties.

DETROIT – Citizens Bank has established a Small Business Relief and Recovery Program that provides supports to organizations to help small businesses survive the Coronavirus pandemic, regain stability, and fully recover. Assisting the communities where we live and work is crucial during this unprecedented time.
Great Lakes Women's Business Council provided 20 grants to small businesses in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic to aid them in recovering and restoring. This grant relief is made possible by the generous support of Citizens Bank and the Citizens Charitable Foundation's Small Business Relief and Recovery program.
"Small businesses are a vital engine of the Southeastern Michigan economy, so it is critical that we both give them an immediate leg up and bolster their long term viability," said Rick Hampson, President, Michigan, Citizens Bank. "We are pleased to join with Great Lakes Women's Business Council to provide much-needed support to help businesses stabilize amidst the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic."
Grant proceeds must be used for working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses, or other similar expenses that occur in the ordinary course of business.
These small business grants totaling $150,000 are providing an immediate infusion of capital to support efforts to stabilize during these unprecedented times..
